ABOUT CAROL

I'm a writer, researcher, and continual learner. My formal education includes an MA in International Studies (International Security), an MA in Religious Education, and a BA in Anthropology.

In 2007, after decades of being a devout evangelical Christian (but one with many unanswered questions), I accepted a challenge to research reincarnation. What I discovered was the catalyst for a dramatic change in my worldview, life purpose, and understanding of the origins and significance of religious beliefs -- without in any way diminishing my relationship with "the God of all there is."

Was this a difficult process? Definitely. But as a wise person once said, "If the map doesn't match the ground, the map is wrong." And the map I'd been following for years didn't match the facts on the ground.

I have diverse interests and activities. However, I support organizations that promote peacemaking and sustainability, and advance the well-being of the disenfranchised and oppressed (especially women and girls in developing countries, people of color, and those who lack the basic necessities of life). I recommend the work of the Friends Committee on National Legislation, Kiva.org, Save the Children, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Rescue Committee.
